Had a letter from Juliet today announcing the death of Aunt Mary Morse, Uncle George's wife. They found her dead in bed on the morning of the 16th inst. & she apparently died very peacefully. Juliet explained why she wrote by reminding me of a promise I exacted from her years ago to let me know if anything serious happened. I had forgotten all about it. Am sorry I shall never see Aunt Mary again in the flesh. She was a good friend to me and I liked her. Wrote Juliet thanking her & also the news to Ma.
